With the unique deep bow and hull design this amazing classic provides smooth ride even in choppy water with the “Clipperline” styling. The original hard top keeps you cool on hot summer days. This motor was professionally restored by Darrell Van Eck of Classic Mercury Outboards of Hayward, Wisconsin. This is Classic Mercury Outboard's Restoration Process from their website:                                                                             Paint Restoration Process In order to refinish the motor properly full dis-assembly is necessary.  Powerhead is removed. Center section is then separated from the lower unit, swivel assembly. All parts are either sand-blasted or sanded clean, depending on condition of the parts.  All parts are primer coated in urethane based two part epoxy primer. The primer is then wet sanded flat and prepared for paint.  All parts are base coated in the specified color, and then clear coated in urethane top coat. The paint is then wet sanded and buffed for perfect finish.                                                  Mechanical Restoration Process All items are removed from the power head. The power head is dismantled and internal parts are inspected. Necessary parts are replaced or serviced as needed. The block will be serviced as necessary. Carburetors will be dismantled and soaked for cleaning and reassembled with the use of new gaskets, seals, and needles seats.  New fuel hoses will be installed.  Distributor will be either over-hauled and re-wired, or serviced depending on what type of distributor and year of the motor.  News park plug wires, ends, and boots are installed.  Fuel pumps are serviced with new gaskets, diaphragm's, and valves.  Main wiring harness is repaired or replaced depending on its condition. New gaskets are used in re-assembly of the powerhead.  The motor is then timed and tuned.   Lower unit is completely dismantled, all parts are checked and replaced if necessary. complete re-seal kit is used in the re-assembly process.   Each motor that Darrell completes is testament to his integrity and commitment to excellence. Check out their website: Classicmercuryoutboards.com! The motor's control box has been fully restored as well with new ignition switch, new neutral safety start switch, new internal shifting lever and new control cables. It has new original sound insulation and new propeller. The motor is EASY to start, fast and it doesn't take long to appreciate the job the that Classic Mercury Outboards did on this motor. With the full restoration this boat, motor and trailer should provide many years of enjoyment as long as it it maintained! Two restored gallon fuel tanks (with new quick connect bulb/fuel line) are included. When considering the purchase of classic boat, with full restoration to the boat, motor and trailer, take into account what the cost of new boat or used boat in this condition would be.
