All Ready To Go For The Summer Starting With Fortnight In June This Year
Through the winter and the early part of this year the maintenance has been completed, the polishing is finished, the new covers and cushions are fitted and the navigation system upgraded.
The Squadron 52 is now ready to go for the summer!
The following weeks for this year are ready to use, starting with fortnight in June:
- 13-06-2019 for fortnight; - 12-09-2019 week;- 10-10-2019 week;- 28-11-2019 week. There is one other week with this share for this season, yet to be allocated.
Boating at much less cost is probably the simple answer! Many boat owners getto use their boats perhaps weeks per year, yet have all the costs.Syndication allows weeks use of great spec boat with only an ⅛ of the cost.
Moored in Alcudia, this is a ⅛ share in our Fairline Squadron 52.
Alcudia North Majorca
She isone of very small number of syndicated boats in Majorcaat this price. Being well established, everyone benefits from long-standingresident team of specialists to look after and maintain her.
Our Squadron 52 is classic design, renownedfor its sea-keeping qualities. Her twin 610hp engines give top design speedof 30+ knots.
She has been kept on the same mooringfor over 10 years, stern-to, on gated privatejetty to which only boat owners have access. Her fortunate marina positioncatches the best of the sun until it sets.
The boat wascommissioned in 2001 and is cleaned inside and out before each syndicatemembers arrival. Cabins are made up, fresh towels put out you can evenrequest fresh flowers on the table and wine chilling in the fridge!
The boat herself isunusual in that she offers more spacious two cabin layout (most boats of thissize have three cabins). Each has an en-suite facilities. She also benefitsfrom large swimming platform and an Avonjetrib. The jetrib canbe used for anything from waterskiing to getting ashore when moored up.There is air conditioning and heatingthroughout the entire boat, run from three separate systems – one system for forward,one system for mid and one system for aft. Thereare all the comforts of home, including flat screen TV, Bose Surround Soundsystem, hard drive with 100+ movies, CD USB player, portable iphone player, microwave,ceramic hob, washer drier, and, of course, drinks cabinet.A crew cabin withtwin bunks, wash basin and toilet completes the accommodation.There is largecockpit area with table and chairs. Upstairs there is flybridge with theupper helm position, bbq, table with seating for 6, large sun bathingcushions etc.
The syndicate islooked after by voted-in Boat Manager and Treasurer. “Open book” accounts arekept and updates are sent out regularly.
What Does It Cost
We each pay £350.00per month into “the kitty” to cover regular mooring fees etc, with extra cashcalls when needed to cover specific expenses.
Total annualmaintenance, including pre-season service, lift-out, on-going cleaning andgeneral repairs has, in past years, cost between £5,000 and £6,000 per ⅛ share.
How Are Weeks Chosen?
Weeks are chosen one at time: thelongest standing member chooses their first week, then everyone chooses theirfirst week in rotation; then the second week is chosen; and-so-on.
Once chosen, weeks can be swapped betweenmembers or, if week can not be used, this too can be swapped. And week swapstend to happen all the time!
A total of 48 weeks are forselection. The remaining weeks of the year (typically February) are used for pre-plannedmaintenance, engine servicing, lift-out for antifouling, polishing etc.
What Is Alcudia Like?
Alcudia has many restaurants -literally starting at the very end of our pontoon! Beaches are minute walkaway, with secluded bays and local calas to anchor up in.
