Selling my Top Hat 25. Original series with diagonal planked, laminated mahogany timber. 18 months ago stripped the mast and recoated it with white Norglass two pack, replaced all the lights and re-rigged her with 6mm, 316 stainless 1/19 wire and new internal internal haliards. It comes with many sails, storm and genoas and think mains. All new running rigging as well. Unfortunately the previous owner removed the Starboard quarter berth bunk and settee. Easy job for handyman. It is fitted with hp Vire petrol engine which was fitted new years ago. Sadly leaking seacock allowed water into the yacht and the magneto and starter are ruined. The floor you can see is filthy but comes up spotless with scrubbing. See picture of engine bay, which is now also filthy.....Why? Because some sod unscrewed one of the side porthole glasses to look inside and took it with him. Then the weeks of rain came in. pumped her out with the Mk manual bilge pump which is fitted but was disgusted and so now she is for sale to the highest bidder. Sold as is where is.   replaced the side porthole perspex. The mooring has been renewed. The yacht is registered until 11/17 and can be left on the mooring until July.  I was going to remove the engine and fit an outboard motor or better still an inboard electric motor. have just finished THREE year project on 50 foot houseboat and am now 74 years old and the thought of beginning another job makes me feel ill beyond belief. would rather Ariel goes to young person who will look after her.  She could easily be sailed anywhere.  There is NO reserve, highest bidder gets lift out to where she is lying on mooring in Secret Bay in Lake Macquarie. NearRathmines.If the new owner wishes to take over the mooring that's fine. Some of the pics were taken year ago when she was antifouled. She will need good scrub by now. There is also boom furler for the main is fitted. New SS 6mm rigging $800. Plus wait! There's more. There are number of lengths of teak for renewing at least one gunwale, plus several other lengths for the framing of the Stbd 1/4 berth and dinette. have the full set of blueprints and brief history of the yacht from the time it was built. She needs good scrub and some interior fitting and fix the engine. But even as she is, she is quite capable of sailing.  My starting price won't come near the cost of the extras. Most of these Top Hats are around $15000 and up. relisted her because the previous winner lives in Townsville and didn't realise how far away he was from Lake Macquarie. The yacht is about an hour or so North of Sydney.....
