:“This boat is in good condition considering it's age and it is in sailing condition. It was motored out and sailed on 11/28/2016. Cosmetically, the deck could use a good cleaning and/or paint if you want it to be restored back to original. The entire exterior of the boat could use a cleaning. The mainsail has some dirt dobber stains that should be easily removed with the right product. Questions are encouraged to help you better understand anything that you might have concerns with in order to place a proper bid.”

1964 Pearson Vangurad for sale

1964 Pearson Vanguard sailboat.  This boat includes one mainsail and one roller furling headsail, both are Dacron sails and in good sailing condition. They have some dirt dobber stains that can be removed with little work. She has an Atomic gas engine that has always proven reliable for me. The Vanguard is full keeled boat that is capable of circumnavigation with the proper preparation. This particular Vanguard is solid boat that is ready to go sailing as-is. We motored her out on 11/28/2016 and went for short, final sail. Onboard there is one marine radio, one am/fm/cd player, and one Garmin GPS multiunit, all of which are functional. To my knowledge, all of the cabin lights work along with all of the running lights.  The masthead light works when it wants to. would suggest changing the bulb during decommission. One of the spreader bulbs needs replacing as well. Structurally and functionally the boat is good. It could use some cosmetic attention.  would plan on replacing the cutlass bearing when she is pulled from the water.  It has made noise in the past that could either mean it's getting close to needing replacement or could just be from non-use.  Either way, it's an inexpensive maintenance that is best handled when the boat is already being pulled from the water.  don't know much about anything below the waterline.  The previous owner assured me that everything was good.  He sold me the boat because he moved up to newer much more expensive boat.  did have one interested party who went diving under the boat and inspected it pretty thoroughly.  He stated that everything looked good to him and came close to buying the boat.  He had the money in hand and decided that it might just be to big of boat for him.  I've single handed this boat on many occasions with no problem.  The main halyard is led back to the cockpit which allows for easy handling.  have enjoyed this boat along with all of the rest of my boats, but unfortunately don't have the time any more to play with any of them which means it's time to let them go.  This boat, along with anything included, is sold as-is, where-is.  I'll be glad to help coordinate the transaction and help with answers to any logistical questions as well.  Please feel free to ask any and all questions that may arise so that you can bid accordingly.  The sale will be final.  The payment will be due in cash or certified check with-in 3 days of the auction end.  We can set up time for you to check the boat out prior to the auction end, however, once it's over you and the reserve has been met the highest bidder will have bought the boat whether they have taken the time to look at it or not.  Good luck and happy bidding!
